My Daughters & I are very Crafty- We like to Sew, paint, Crochet & etc. We try pretty much anything that looks like it is a challenge. We decided to do a Fathers Day Chain. We haven't made a chain since their Papa deployed. You can make chains for anything, to count up or down or even keep track of your thoughts like, something fun you did that day or that you want to do. When you give it to him it is a neat pile of memories/growth & thoughts that your children came up with!
This time we kept the links to 6, because 6 is A good even number, not too much or little!
Here's how we did it!
You will need:
Construction Paper
Scissors
Glue
Markers (washable is the best for smaller children)
Make a List for each child on a separate piece of paper. Since we have 6 links, we have 6 different activities they enjoy or love about their Dad. Like, playing Tickle monster, Movie Dates & going to the Park.
(If you are doing this activity with older children who can write and spell this is not needed.)
We made the list for them to copy onto one activity onto each of the chain links that we cut out (photo not shown because I forgot! Oops!!)
After they are done, Ask them what their favorite thing to do while spending time with Dad. This is optional but the photo can be printed up & attached to the chain link/card at the end.
The final step, Lay out all of the links, Have your child pick what order they want them to go in on their chain. Then fold the link into a circle & have them glue the ends together.
Voila!! Your personalised Fathers Day Chains! Sweet & simple.
What I love most is this is an easy project that can be made from your craft supplies you already have at home, If you don't want to use glue you can use tape!
Now hurry.. Hide them before Dad gets home!!
